In last week’s episode of The Divorce Insurance, the different people involved in bringing the divorce insurance to life find themselves entangled in romantic pursuits while trying their hardest to get their idea off the ground. However, both these ventures might turn out to be a bit more difficult than intended, especially when they get a call from the FSS! The Divorce Insurance Episode 5 has a runtime of 59 minutes.

The Divorce Insurance Episode 5 Recap

Ki-jun and Han-deul are called in to have a discussion about their insurance policy by the FSS. Although they fight to protect their brainchild, they are ultimately bested by the official from FSS. Panicked, Ki-jun mentions that they won’t perform a divorce ceremony, and the official asks whether they had lied on the brochure. He, in turn, offers to make sure that their first 10 policyholders do not divorce, and Han-deul is left shocked at his response. However, the official is receptive to their change.

Elsewhere, Jeon-man and Na-rae meet a marriage counsellor who helps them understand the couple with the highest risk of divorce. Meanwhile, Ah-young tries to arrange a baking class to foster harmony among couples, but gets informed that stressful work like baking or cooking might make the friction worse in already fighting couples. She later asks Woong-sik to teach dance to the couples and runs off without waiting for a response.

As they go over the different parameters that they now have to keep an eye on as they focus on keeping the divorce rate at 0. Meanwhile, Jung Jung-chi seems to have something brewing to sabotage the divorce insurance team’s efforts. Later, Ki-jun and Han-deul head out of Mi-rae’s home to keep an eye on whether or not she faces any issues that might harm their company. On the other hand, Na-rae asks IT to look into hacking possibilities because she thinks the complaint is an inside job. However, she is shocked to learn that two people had used the company devices outside of work hours — Ki-jun and Han-deul.

Elsewhere, Lee Jeong-shin also decides to push for divorce insurance as, it seems, a way to get to it faster than Han-deul. Meanwhile, at Mi-rae’s house, Ki-jun and Han-deul are shocked to find that she’s dead-set on getting the divorce. It sends them into a panic, but Mi-rae throws them out and refuses to listen to them. However, they end up going in for a tarot reading despite the annoyed looks and get the reading that Han-deul will be successful in her business ventures. This means that Mi-rae has to stay married in order for the reading to be true, leaving her in a true dilemma!

Anyway, Mi-rae opens up about her predicament, and Ki-jun, Han-deul and Ah-young decide to help her save her marriage and travel to Gorangae. They run into Woong-sik there, who helps them locate Mi-rae’s husband. They separate into two groups, and Ki-jun and Han-deul eventually get lost trying to locate him and then get caught in the rain. As night falls, they are shocked to find a tiger facing them in the forest.

I am unsure what I am expected to feel from The Divorce Insurance. On the one hand, it’s absolutely over-the-top, so much so that it’s difficult to come to terms with its characters and their decisions. On the other hand, it’s definitely a cute watch that doesn’t put too much pressure on your mind. I guess if you’re looking for a sweet and light entertainer with not a lot at stake, this one makes the cut. On that note, episode 5 had a lot of clichéd moments, and I am honestly flabbergasted at how quickly the different couples have cropped up.

Although it’s nice to see these people having intimacy other than romance, it’s pretty clear that that’s the direction we’re heading here. Either way, I am waiting to be blown away by the series, even though it hasn’t happened as of yet.
