Project UFO Review: Netflix bring a Polish political show wherein an alleged UFO landing brings together two men into embarking on an intellectual journey. But the real suspense arrives when they strive to persuade the world of their theories while a powerful politician makes use of this incident to seize power over the country. The series is deadpan for most of the episodes, but it has exciting moments that make it interesting.

Project UFO Review
The plot of the series follows two men- a fading TV star and an extraterrestrial enthusiast- who embark on a journey when news of an alleged UFO landing comes to them. While the search for proof of the existence of extraterrestrial beings and their origin pulls others in their circle into the debate, a powerful politician makes use of this incident to seize power over the country.
The series comes with the warning that it is deadpan and offbeat, so don’t be surprised if you have a hard time going through the episodes. There is hardly any entertainment aspect in this series or aliens (which might have brought you to this show), but it is intriguingly centred around them. Intellects coming together to discuss their theories regarding extraterrestrial beings is where you will find the most content regarding aliens. This, in a way, is intriguing for the audience as well, especially when it comes to one of the protagonist’s theories about USOs, aka Unidentified Submersible Objects.

There is a lot of content being exchanged in the series, which will surely intrigue you if you are someone interested in this particular topic. But it is soon swept away by the political seesaw that takes place on many levels in this show. Be it the competition to take credit, be the first to show it on television, or get fame through this once-in-a-lifetime news, a lot is happening in the series. While it takes away the attention from the real topic- aliens, it adds a touch of reality because this isn’t something that we don’t know about.
What intrigues me further is how well the show creates this thin, almost invisible, line between reality and imagination or belief. The show catches your attention right in the beginning when it claims that the events shown are real or could have been real. This unreliable message right at the beginning makes you curious about the events in the show and what really puts out this message. If this wasn’t enough, then it goes ahead to have this whole revelation conversation between the two protagonists, which shakes your belief in whatever you’ve watched until now. But it doesn’t stop there, one moment you find yourself in disbelief and the next moment you are stunned when you see another ray of hope shinning upon you.

This series is definitely not an easy one to watch, and you will find yourself bored out of your mind by everything that is taking place. But it has its plus points and some really good visualisation of a UFO, which was certainly eye-catching. It doesn’t make it any easier to watch, but the final scenes, when the truth comes out and you see a national-level political usurpation taking place that you find yourself fascinated by the show.
Summing Up
Project UFO is a series that is surely well-made with details that won’t be easy to catch. While boring for many, it may fare well with a targeted audience who are ready to catch the intricacy of the series. The final episode brought a good end to the show and that is what really brought a change to the whole viewing experience.
